A General History of the Newark Church of Christ

To fully know the Newark Church of Christ, we must go to it's roots. For that we should take a look at the History of the Church of Christ of Fremont. 

In 1952, members of the Hayward congregation who lived in Niles and Centerville wanted a meeting house closer to home. They began meeting September 21, 1952 on the lower floor of the Miller Building in Centerville with 28 in attendance. Late in 1953 they purchased a building at our present location, 5880 Thornton Ave., Newark CA. 

We, here at that same location are embarging on a new challenge as we seek a new place of worship. Our greatest desire and prayer is to continue our service to this Newark area by obtaining a building near their original house of worship. Our normal Sunday morning attendance averages about 18 to 20 souls seeking to reach the goal of salvation whilst spreading the Good News of The Gospel of Christ.
